CONTENT OF THE ASSISTANCE

1. NON-LIFE

1.1. TRAINING FOR PARTNERS

From its inception, CICA-RE has undertaken to help its ceding companies of the CIMA area better understand the techniques of Reassurance, which seemed esoteric at the time.

In order to meet the expectations of its partners, this dissemination of knowledge is realized both through internships in the company, on demand, and through periodic seminars on themes of reassurance and even insurance. There are reinsurance training courses for Insurance Controllers.

1.2. RISK PRICING

It deals with Industrial Risks, Engineering, Transport, and Miscellaneous Risks. CICA-RE responds to partners’ requests by proposing pricing conditions adapted to the guarantees requested by the insured, which ensure a balance of results.

1.3. RISK INSPECTIONS

They give the opportunity to get down to the ground with an officer or officers of the insurance company. The information provided in the reports allows for better risk selection and improves the quality of underwriting.

1.4. DRAWING UP OF REINSURANCE PROGRAMME AND LEADING INSURANCE UNDERTAKING

CICA-RE helps an increasing number of insurance companies in the CIMA and non-CIMA areas to have a reinsurance programme or treaties covering specific industries. Its leading insurance undertaking is followed by mega-reinsurers throughout the world.

1.5. AUDITING OF POLICY, TARIFFS & CLAIMS

At their request or on the recommendation of CICA-RE, officers are dispatched to insurance companies to carry out these tasks, the purpose of which is the profitability of the portfolios, reduction of management costs and the improvement of technical results.

1.6. IT AUDIT SYSTEM

This audit is done at the request of the partners. It leads to the search for solutions adapted to the IT problems that they may encounter.

1.7. WRITING OF PROCEDURE MANUAL

Here too, at the request of the ceding companies or in the face of the difficulties encountered in their organization, the Company's officers are placed at their disposal to write the administrative, technical and accounting procedures in order to remove the bottlenecks , improve the flow of information and make the performance more efficient.

1.8. DRAWING UP REINSURANCE ACCOUNTS

The technical accountants provide assistance to insurance companies seeking assistance from CICA-RE. Insurance companies that start up their business and for which CICA-RE is the lead insurer systematically benefit from this assistance when their first reinsurance accounts are drawn up.

1.9. STUDY FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF PROPERTY, CASUALTY AND TRANSPORT INSURANCE COMPANIES

In the implementation of one of the tasks assigned to it by its statutes, namely the promotion of insurance markets in the CIMA area, CICA-RE makes its know-how available to insurance company establishment project initiators. It prepares the technical file and assists the technical management team during the examination of the said file by the Regional Commission of Insurance Supervision (Commission R√©gionale de Contr√īle des Assurances).

2. LIFE

2.1. IT ASSISTANCE

The provision of life insurance operations management software to ceding companies:
* Since 1993, CICA-RE has designed software for life insurance management in operation in several life-insurance companies, which it continues to improve over time. In its current version, our software manages the following products:

  • - Capitalization Contract
  • - Annuity, Education and Endowment Insurance Contract
  • - The Term Life Insurance Contract
  • - The Term Life Insurance Contract with Tapering Capital to cover bank loans
  • - Company Group Life Insurance Contract

Our software is open : It means that it is designed to allow addition of the management of any life insurance or capitalization product that a ceding company wishes to market at any time.
* Assistance in the design or selection of IT management tools for life Insurance operations

2.2. ACTUARIAL ASSISTANCE

  • - Design and launch of new products
  • - Audit of technical provisions
  • - The valuation of life portfolio in the context of a transfer or assignment
  • - The actuarial audit of life and capitalization contracts management software
  • - All actuarial work at the request of life insurance companies

2.3. COMMERCIAL SUPPORT

  • - Selection and recruitment of sales representatives
  • - The establishment of a commercial network
  • - Training of commercial agents

2.4. TRAINING ASSISTANCE

CICA-RE supports the training of officers of life insurance companies according to the following formulas :

  • - Organization of a seminar each year in a CIMA Member State
  • - √Ä la carte training (either at the CICA-RE headquarters or at the ceding company's) at the request of a ceding company on a specific theme chosen by the latter

2.5. RISK SELECTION ASSISTANCE

CICA-RE assists with risk selection. To this end, it has a charging service run by a physician to :

  • - Medical risk selection and pricing
  • - Preparation of formalities tables for risks selection

2.6. OPTIONAL CAPABILITY OFFER

Beyond the full treaty underwriting, CICA-RE offers a large capacity of subscription in option :

  • - Automatically for ceding companies that have CICA-RE as lead insurer
  • - On a case-by-case basis for other ceding companies

2.7. ASSISTANCE TO THE ESTABLISHMENT AND LAUNCH OF LIFE COMPANIES

  • - Feasibility study
  • - Assembling an administrative file
  • - Compiling the technical file (general and specific conditions of contracts, tariffs and technical notes, etc.)
  • - Preparation of the financial report (forecast operating accounts, balance sheets, cash flow plan, etc.)
  • - Defence of accreditation dossier submitted to the CRCA (CIMA) for the CIMA countries
  • - Establishment of technical services and launch of operations.

2.8. WRITING OF PROCEDURE MANUAL

CICA-RE assists in the drafting of a procedural manual for :

  • - Technical operations
  • - Financial and accounting transactions
  • - Technical, financial and accounting operations
